CW Practice Net

The SVARC CW Practice Net provides a relaxed, supportive environment for operators to practice copying Morse code on the air. Whether you’re brand new to CW or brushing up on your skills, these sessions are designed to help you improve through real-world listening and repetition.

Practice Format

• Live CW is sent during each session

• The transmitted copy is read back by voice on the net, allowing participants to check their accuracy and learn from what they hear

• No pressure, no speed requirements — just practice and progress

Schedule

• Fridays and Sundays at 8:30 PM

• Frequency: 147.18 MHz repeater (K3SNY)

Important Schedule Exceptions
Practice sessions are not held during major operating weekends, including:

• Pennsylvania QSO Party (PAQP) — 2nd weekend of October

• CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest — last weekend of October

• CQ World Wide DX CW & SSB Contests — first and third weekends of November

These breaks allow operators to participate in major contests without conflict.

The CW Practice Net is open to all skill levels and is a great complement to structured Morse learning. Come listen, participate when you’re ready, and improve at your own pace.
