Active & Involved
What we do
SVARC exists to support amateur radio in the Susquehanna Valley in practical, hands-on ways. Our activities reflect the many sides of the hobby:
-
On-air operating across HF, VHF, and UHF
-
Regular nets that bring local operators together
-
Technical learning and experimentation
-
Public service and emergency preparedness
-
Mentorship for new and returning hams
-
Preserving and passing along radio knowledge
Amateur radio isn’t just one thing—and neither is this club.
It's about more than just radio
What do we offer you?
If you’re not licensed yet—or if it’s been years since you were active—you’re not alone.
SVARC welcomes:

A Club With History—and Momentum
SVARC has deep roots in the Susquehanna Valley, with a history that stretches back decades. Over the years, the club has grown, faded, regrouped, and evolved—much like amateur radio itself.
Today, we’re focused on honoring that history while also looking forward: new technologies, new operating modes, and new ways to connect people through radio.

Become part of the club
SVARC is more than a callsign on the air or a list of repeaters. It’s a group of people who believe amateur radio still matters.
You don’t need to know everything.
You don’t need the latest gear.
You just need an interest in radio and a willingness to learn.
